Hi!
I plan on studying for the MCAT during the Fall 2021 semester; which course do you think would be better to take while studying for the MCAT- Biology 225 or Physics 235? I plan to take one of these courses during this upcoming Summer semester and the other during the Fall. These are the last “MCAT classes” I have left to take; I’ll be taking MCDB 310 in the summer and will have P Chem, Orgo, and the Biology sequence completed by the Fall 2021 semester.
Thank you!
Hi Zoe!
I think the better course to take while studying for the MCAT in terms of how much it’ll help you in preparing for the exam would be BIOLOGY 225. I personally found PHYSICS 235 concepts difficult in the way that they were explained in class and much easier to understand by reading the MCAT study books (I used Kaplan materials). I’d also like to point out that courses over the spring/summer semesters go by super fast and pack in a lot of information, so I would suggest taking one during the spring session and one during the summer session… especially because the more information you can grasp during the actual class period, the less you’ll have to revisit that subject in the future. I hope this helps and please let us know if you have any other questions or follow-ups!

Hi!
Thanks for your response!
I’m planning on taking MCDB 310 during the summer so I’d like to either take Physics 235 or Biology 225 in the spring to avoid taking 2 science classes in the same semester. Based on this, I would have to take either Physics 235 or Biology 225 (whichever one I don’t take in the summer) during the Fall semester while I’m studying for the MCAT.
Would you still recommend taking Biology 225 in the fall?
Hi Zoe!
I would still recommend BIOLOGY 225 during the fall because that course material will be heavily tested on the MCAT whereas PHYSICS 235’s material isn’t typically as heavily tested since the chem/phys section covers a broader range of subject matter.
I hope this helps!
