Besides pchem, is there another class that I can take to fulfill the second semester of inorganic chemistry? My major doesn’t require me to take chem 230/260. I was looking into chem 370. Based on Atlas, the courseload is less and grade median is higher than pchem. However, I don’t know if it’s that way because engineering students take that course.
Hi Zach,
Thanks for your question! There are some options to consider if you don’t want to take pchem. The most common ones are shown here on the Newnan website, including Chem 370 like you mentioned, Cheme 330/Chem 361, and Biomede 221. I will say that many pre-med students do choose to take Chem 230, as the class is immensely helpful for the MCAT. While it is a notoriously difficult class, with some extra effort it’s definitely manageable and teaches you some great study habits in addition to more than enough content than what you’ll need for chemistry on the MCAT. Something to consider if you haven’t taken the MCAT yet!
