Hi, I was wondering by the end of my second semester of my senior year, I am hoping to send all my transcripts in. I know that the semester usually ends at the end of April and AMCAS opens beginning of May. I am wondering will my transcript by that time be able to see my second semester senior year grades since it takes 15 days for AMCAS to receive ones transcript? Simply put, will second semester senior year grades be evident on the transcript by the time you apply to early let’s say May 31st or June 1st?
Hi there! While it’s true that the AMCAS application opens at the beginning of May each year, it’s worth noting that the application does not open for submission until the end of May. So you will have the whole month of May to get your final transcript sorted out and sent to AMCAS, which should be plenty of time. For reference, I graduated this May (2021), and received my final grades for the second semester of my senior year around May 3rd. You’ll want to make sure you wait to send any transcripts until you’ve received notification that all your final grades for your last semester have been put in. I sent my transcript to AMCAS on May 4th, and received notification that it was received on May 17th, which was well before the first day I could even submit my application on May 27th. If you can’t submit on the very first day, due to transcript issues or otherwise, definitely don’t worry about it, as it truly isn’t as big of an issue as it is sometimes made out to be. So yes, as long as you wait until all your second semester grades are uploaded before sending your transcript to AMCAS, you should be just fine. Please let me know if you have any further questions!
