I had a question about what would the transcript look like if you retake classes.
If you took the same class for Fall and Winter (and you did better over the winter semester) and you couldn’t repeat it for credit, would the class show up on your transcript for both Fall and Winter? Would the grades for the Fall semester be masked and only Winter show up?

From my understanding, if you retake a class, both show up on your transcript, each with their respective grades.

  • If you earned an A+ through C, P, CR, or S the first time, the notation “not for credit” will appear on your transcript for your repetition of the course.
  • If you earned C- through D- the first time, the notation “repetition” will appear on your transcript for your repetition of the course. You will receive honor points but no credit towards your degree.
  • If you earned an E, F, or U the first time, there is no notation on your transcript. You will receive honor points and credit for your degree for both courses.
