Pre-Med Q&ACategory: MajorsPlanning to switch majors
AvatarAnonymous asked 1 year ago

Hello. I am currently a sophomore majoring in Neuroscience (have not officially declared) but I have come to the realization that this may not be the major for me. I was thinking of switching into BMS as I feel that I am stronger in chemistry compared to psych or bio classes. Would it be too late to switch as I am already currently taking two upper level Neuroscience classes? My main concern is that I have taken CHEM 210 but have not taken CHEM 130 or 125/126 which are required for BMS. Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Switching to BMS should be feasible, as long as your schedule is planned accordingly. Please see the major spreadsheet to see which classes you need to take to fulfill the major:

Additionally, I’m assuming you passed out of Chem 130 or had AP credit. So in place of this, you must take Chem 245 (lecture) with Chem 246/247(lab).

Let us know if you have any follow up questions!
