I’m wondering if I should take this over the summer term or during the winter semester? I’m nervous that it would be too difficult to do in half the time over the summer.

Hi,
I’m currently enrolled in CHEM 230, and it is a pretty rigorous course. However, I don’t think that it’s impossible to take over the summer. If you plan on only taking this class with no other time-demanding extracurriculars, then I think you’d be able to do it.
The typical format of the class in the winter semester is 5 exams. It is a flipped classroom, so you watch the pre-recorded videos and then have class 3 times a week to work on problems. There are pre-class quizzes and homework due that makeup part of your grade as well as those exams. The 5 exams sound scary, but you have a ton of exam practice, so nothing to be too worried about.
