Are there minimum grades required for a prereq needed for med school?  I’ve seen varying answer saying some schools require a solid “B” or higher while others are “B-“ or higher and others are solid “C+”. I just wasn’t sure as I’ve looked on some med school sites too and i also that information ?

Hello!
There are no minimum grades required for prerequisites for medical school. Medical schools take a holistic approach when reviewing applications, so they consider many other factors besides your grades. However, it’s still important to aim for a solid GPA – looking at the average GPAs for various medical schools can show you what they’re looking for. It’s also important to note that in order to obtain an undergraduate degree, the minimum grade requirement for most classes is a C (2.0 GPA). Getting a grade below a C in a class will mean that class won’t go towards your degree, so medical schools will also not accept it.
If you’re really concerned about one specific class, making it pass/fail is still an option for this semester, so that’s something to consider! However, if you choose to do that, be prepared to potentially talk about why you made the decision to mask that grade in your application and/or interview.
Hope this helps!
