Hi. So I am debating whether or not to convert my math 115 grade to a “Pass (P)” on my transcript since I have the option during COVID. I got a B+ in the class, so it impacts my gpa, but if I convert to a P, it will not affect my gpa. Do med. schools care about passing grades on transcripts for calc? I know now most med. schools require stats instead of calc (which I’m taking next semester), so I feel like it they wouldn’t care if I convert it to a P, but I’m still worried. What do you think? Should I convert to P or leave the B+?
Hey!
If Calc is required for a med school they may want to see your actual grade. Additionally, the director of admissions at UMich has mentioned that she wouldn’t advise hiding A and B grades (converting them to “P”) since the admissions committee might assume that lower grades were obtained.
However, it’s still your call if you want to convert to “P” to maintain your GPA, or stay with a B+.
Best of luck!
