Pre-Med Q&ACategory: Scheduling and ClassesHow does my schedule look like?
AvatarS. R. asked 2 months ago

Hi! I’m currently a freshman intending on majoring in Neuroscience and I am planning to take orgo 1 in the fall of my sophomore year. Can someone please go over the classes I’m planning on taking and give me advice on them or on my schedule in general? I will really appreciate it!
CHEM 210/211 (5), PSYCH 230 (4), MCDB 300 (2), SPANISH 103 (4) + maybe a 1-credit HU mini-course = 16 creds

Hello,
I hope you are doing well! This looks like a do-able schedule to me–but you will be very busy. Chem 210, as you probably have heard, is very time consuming. I arguably spent more time each week on the lab for that class on weeks we didn’t have exams. We typically advise that people only take 2 STEM classes a term,  and it looks like that is what you have, but there are some other difficult classes in the mix. Psych 230 (I have heard) is pretty manageable, but a MCDB class and and a language class on top of that might be a lot. If you have taken this many courses in one term before, and know you can manage it, you should be fine. However, I would just fully expect to be very busy.

I hope this helps! If you have more questions, feel free to respond to this post or attend our advising hours.
