Pre-Med Q&ACategory: Scheduling and ClassesCourse Classification for Organic Chemistry
Avataranon asked 8 months ago

So as I am approaching to fill my application coursework, I was wondering how do medical schools know that Chem 210 and 215 are organic chemistry coursework due to the title of structure and reactivity? I’m only asking because the title of the coursework doesn’t have organic chemistry and I was wondering if I needed to clarify that on an application. Thank you so much!

Hello,

I am in the same boat as you–about to start the application process. I don’t have a certain answer because I have yet to complete it, but I really don’t think it is anything to worry about in the slightest. I am sure there is a way to identify it as organic chemistry, but even if not, I am sure most schools are pretty familiar with course titles, especially those from Michigan.

I hope this eased some of your concern. Good luck with your application!
