Has anyone taken this? How was the workload? Was it hard? Are the labs long?
Thanks!
Hi,
I hope you are doing well! Unfortunately, none of our Advisors have taken this course. However, from Atlas, this is the information that they list for BIOLOGY 230:
- Advisory Prereqs: BIOLOGY 171, (172 or 174), & 173; or BIOLOGY 192 & 173; or BIOLOGY 195 & 173
- 19% perceived this course’s workload to be heavier than other courses
- Median Grade: A-, 44% get an A, 14% get an A-
Additionally, I couldn’t find any information about the professors teaching the course on RateMyProfessor. But, looking at Atlas, it does not appear that the class has a super-heavy workload and many students receive an A grade. So, as long as you dedicate a decent amount of time towards the course and you are not taking a bunch of other STEM courses, I think you should be successful! Generally, we like to advise people to take 2 STEM classes per semester if possible.
I hope this helps! Feel free to stop by our advising hours (on Sunday – Wednesday from 6 – 10 PM) if you have any further questions!
Best,
Raheem, PMH Co-President
