I did not do well on the first bio 225 test and looks like I might need to retake it next semster just so it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s not a C-C+ later when I apply to med school. I am also planning on taking bio 305 next semster and wonder how the studying would go/how the class is like. I know bio 225, the first half was a lot of memorization, and the second half is still some memorization, but more big picture stuff. I just want to see how the two classes line up in terms of studying and content so please any information on bio 305 would be helpful! P.s. any insight on retaking the bio 225 course? Should I risk taking it with bio 305 next semster as well as eeb 390? As of now I am a sophomore and have scheduled out for the rest of my semesters at least 2 science classes
Hello,
I have taken Bio 225 and 305 together, and it wasn’t that bad. However, these 2 classes were my only science classes that semester, so I was able to focus on them. I highly recommend not taking anymore STEM classes when taking these 2 classes together. That being said, I wouldn’t take EEB 390 with Bio 225 and 305.
Bio 225 is pretty consistent memorization wise for the whole semester. In contrast, bio 305 is more memorization based in the 2nd half of the course (but these topics may seem more familiar to you) compared to the first half of the course which is more problem solving based. Exams also tended to line up around the same time since there are 4 exams for both classes. As long as you keep up with the material on a weekly basis it shouldn’t be too difficult.
Best of luck and let us know if you have more questions!
Best,
